Great flavor and portions

Great pork as expected from Lexington style BBQ, Smiley's is another great option - located right off the I-85 Business Loop, parking free beside the building. Staff and service were very good. Noteworthy, I got the large BBQ salad and my sister got the small. To my disappointment we both received the same amount of BBQ with the large salad only containing more lettuce/salad. If I had to do it over again I would recommend the small BBQ salad. given the price difference. I recommend if you are in the area!!

Excellent place to eat!!

Sliced pork bbq and pork skin. I would eat here everyday if I could. A box of pork skin is a great takeout before watching a game or going for a long drive.

Okra and squash great. Good burgers. Bbq slaw great! Great barbecue!

Food is good and the waitresses are wonderful and hard working. The owner is very rude yelling at his wait staff.In the resteraunt buisness your staff is what makes your buisness so you should have a little more respect for your employees.To the workers keep up the good work and know the customers see your hard work and we appreciate you serving us. Pray for this owner.

BBQ was very good, seasoned well with plenty of flavor. Good white slaw, didn’t try the red. Hush puppies and fries were just ok. Servers were friendly and service was excellent. It’s a BBQ restaurant, the BBQ was good!

Lexington barbecue truly isn't that good. It's good for Lexington bbq but it really. Truly. Isn't that special.

My cousin owns this place! Best BBQ and hotdogs. Then they have breakfast too. Good food all around!! There is more food on the menu, my favorite is their onion rings! Best onion rings I have had anywhere! Refills on your drinks!😉🌭🍟🍔🍗🍴YUMMY😋

Outstanding. Best beef brisket I've had this side of Texas. Only eaten there once....I'm in Raleigh...but trying to come up with an excuse to return to Lexington. I dream about that brisket. Kudos, y'all!

They have daily specials, good BBQ, restaurant is clean, staff are friendly, give plenty of food and have some good dessert options. We like the chicken wings, grandsons like the hot dogs, and the BBQ chicken is really good. The Owner Steve came around checking to see if we needed anything. They even sale Mrs. Hanes Cookies Ginger, Lemon, Sugar, Black Walnut.

On a visit to NC, stopped by Smiley's. Great NC BBQ joint. Authentic hickory wood smoked bbq. (Logs stacked up out back). Chicken and chopped pork were fantastic. BBQ sauce served in little steel cups. My wife would have said they were very cute. Very good sized portions at very reasonable prices. Extremely friendly staff ensuring you have everything you need. Definitely recommend!!!

Fantastic family friendly restaurant. The staff here are very friendly. It was very nice to see the owner of the business there being active and ensuring customers were having a good time. I enjoyed the food; Well cooked, home style, a real family experience for loved ones and get togethers. The service I received was outstanding. Welcoming smiles and showings of interest in the customers is what made my family get together great.

Really good food. I got the BBQ plate listed for $9.00. it came with a lot of BBQ, BBQ coleslaw, fries, and choice of hush puppies, cornbread sticks, or rolls. I got the hush puppies. All the food was really good and hot. Service was pretty good. Only thing I didn't care for was the waitress would come up after 2 sips of tea asking if I wanted more tea. I liked that they were open on Sunday because none of the other BBQ places or Char's is open on Sunday because we are in the Bible belt. I got 2 sweet teas and 2 BBQ plates for $23.01. They were happy to give us to go boxes because it was sooo much food and we also got to go teas for free. They have cool older signs and license plates, as do many of the other BBQ places. I will come back here at some point.

Nice little place. Great employees. Clean, smells nice. We received our food in under 5 minutes and it tasted great! The amount of food for their "plate" combos is amazing. Even my 6'5" 300lbs husband couldn't finish it. It was so good we ordered extra to take home to Winston.

Service was okay.However, the hush puppies and cornbread sticks were dry.. Portions were small.. I'd prefer Speedys down the street.. Sorry, only saying what's really. Or what others might say "just keeping it real"

Our first time here....Was traveling and a close friend suggested this BBQ place to me! She said the food was great! My Hubby and I tried a number of food items...BBQ Chicken, the Pulled Pork, Red Slaw, Corn Sticks, Hushpuppies, Baked Beans, Sweet Tea, and Homemade Banana Pudding! Was NOT dissappointed! Was absolutely DELICIOUS! Stop in and Taste for Yourself! YUMMY!!!

Lexington is truly the best place for BBQ and Smiley's is the best in Lexington. My favorite is the coarse chopped barbecue. The red slaw is great as well.

Was just driving through Lexington and found this place. had to stop by because apparently Lexington is the barbecue capital of the world... I have to say that the barbecue was very subpar there was nothing amazing about it. It was standard NORTH Carolina BBQ. Vinegar base with some seasonings and ketchup. The red coleslaw was pretty good and the people were very kind! There was definitely nothing wrong with the staff or the establishment. The rating is purely based off of the BBQ!

First time eating here. It had been 23 years since I'd had chopped Barbecue. It was just like I remembered when I used to eat it in my dad's restaurant. Not a large amount of food, but it was tasty and filling. It was a bit pricey for the portion, especially being the daily special. It was served quickly though.Obviously mostly serving local patrons, I felt like an outsider here. The waitress wasn't unfriendly, but she wasn't friendly either and I felt like she was ready for me to eat and leave. She didn't refill my tea either. The cook did say hello when I walked in. He seemed to be very friendly.

Really good barbecue, the brownies with ice cream are also great.

I live in Texas but from NC. Most partial to the lexington Style BBQ for 40+ years. Smiley's is some of the best ever. This could be new, but I never seen it..they bring around a coffee pot of warm BBQ sauce that brings a new level to the whole bbq playing field. Add great slaw, hushpuppys, sides, friendly service and good pricing and you get a top 10(out of the thousands I've tried). Enjoy.

The best BBQ! We stopped in Sunday for a late lunch and were greeted by the sweetest waitress. It was our first time so she explained the menu and answered our questions and more. The service is great, our food came out quickly. The food is amazing! Hush puppies were a favorite and the BBQ Coleslaw. We will be back!

It's always a pleasure dining here. I love the atmosphere and everyone is always smiling and really nice. The barbeque is fantastic, and I've never had anything here that I didn't love. I wish it wasn't so far away from my house, but I'd say it's worth the drive to get there. I definitely recommend this place.

This is an excellent example of Lexington NC style BBQ. The restaurant looks small but packs a punch. Once again I want to reiterate how good the bbq is. Not to mention the red slaw and the hush puppies. I would love to write more but it's 11:45 am and I've worked up an appetite writing this review plus I've got a 90 minute drive to get to Smiley's. If you're smart you'll meet me there.

Born and raised in Davidson Co.We have lived in VA for 12 years now.We eat our favorite BBQ at Smiley"s every chance we get when down for a visit.Smiley"s is a great ambassador of the local style.

Great food, great service and reasonable prices

They had things on the menu that they no longer even serve. Said we haven't had that for long time. Then change the menu. Had to wait for our sandwiches because they were out of buns.Then they came out smashed. Service was not the best. Prices were good and the food was alright.

Simple, traditional, classic Lexington-style

Did the BBQ plate chopped with skins and red slaw. Very tasty and a lot of bang for your buck.

Every time my wife and I have went there the food was great and the service was great. The only place in Lexington you can get a Chuckwagon Steak sandwich (that's what I get nearly every time I go) and they are great! Highly recommend this place if you're looking for good food and service..

Love their Bbq

Very good. But way too much food. Feel like it was a waste. My wife and I should have shared. I'm sure that's not a negative thing for most people but I felt if u scaled back a little bit you could feed more people and they would still b happy. Also would make you more money but it's just a opinion. I still recommend.

Friendly folks, tasty food at this local spot. I liked the option for the course chopped BBQ, and you can also get some to go for an easy meal at home. Don't miss the homemade desserts - chocolate cake was perfect.

My first time having North Carolina BBQ and this place was great. BBQ was great and so was slaw and fries. Also got some carrot cake that was amazing. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area.

Our food arrived quickly, and was excellent. My pulled pork, and 1/4 smoked BBQ chicken platter was a feast! The homemade brownie with ice cream for dessert. Our service was top notch. Highly recommended.
